Welcome to My Practice
Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Putting this together has been a labour of love. For those who don’t know me, my name is Tim Misener, and I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, working with, training, and learning from some of the cosmetic industry’s finest experts over the years.
My Path to Aesthetics—and Back Again
I stepped away from the medical aesthetics industry for a few years to pursue another passion. In 2019, I transitioned from working as a Registered Practical Nurse in dermatology to becoming a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours), serving Toronto’s most vulnerable populations. I wanted to give back to those who needed it most—people living with challenges many may never fully understand.
A Promise to Myself
I made a promise to myself: if I ever returned to aesthetics, I would do so independently. The pull to come back never left me, and I’m grateful to have found my way here again. A lot has changed—trends, research, technology, and access. I remember in the early 2000s, injectable treatments were marketed to a very specific crowd. Today, social media has reshaped the industry entirely, making medical aesthetic care more visible and accessible—for better or worse.
What Matters Most
Honesty has always been at the heart of my practice, whether I’m providing medical aesthetic treatments or care for vulnerable populations. I take a gentle, thoughtful approach, giving each treatment the care and attention it deserves.
Patient safety is my top priority; I follow public health guidelines and use only Health Canada–approved technologies.
My Professional Path
My career took off in 2004 when I became the first male to achieve a Diploma in Esthetics from Sheridan College. This program, designed by Barbara MacLellan, Sally Isted, Denise Merlino, and Betty K, was instrumental in my professional development. Being a male esthetician in Toronto’s luxury spas in the early 2000s was a unique and challenging experience. I faced interesting stories, & also built a budding celebrity clientele. I’m sure there are a few books' worth of juicy experiences to share someday.
